Well done to Mount Mercy College Student Council who showed a great sense of social justice and fairness by organising a Christmas-themed cake sale to support St Vincent de Paul’s Annual Appeal on the 13th December 2016. The Student Council showed great initiative within a very short timeframe in response to hearing that SVP greatly needed support this Christmas. MMC staff and students responded very generously by buying the delicious cakes on offer. Thanks to the Student Council’s team work, organisational skills and baking prowess, the sum of 440 Euros was raised on the day for SVP!

This initiative is an example of how each of us can make a difference by taking some action, no matter how small, in order to show care for our fellow human beings. Acts of kindness, generosity and support help to foster the type of society that we would all wish to live in.
